When a horse is under stress, there can be a loss of motility of the bowel.  Century Hill E-Lytes horses supplement, as well has a proactive effect on the horses bowel function.

Most electrolytes only contain replacement minerals. Symptoms to look for when your horse may need Century Hill E-Lytes

When the body's electrolyte levels are disturbed, your horse may have heart problems, his gastrointestinal system may not work properly, his muscles may develop cramps, and he may not even be able to think straight, because his brain may not function normally.

Signs of low electrolyte levels may include nervousness, fatigue, muscle tremors, and stiffness.

Signs of dehydration that you might look for are dry mucous membranes, sunken eyes, fatigue, high heart rate and respiratory rate that don't come down with proper cooling-out measures, weak pulses, skin tenting, or colic.

Look for poor capillary refill time (CRT). In order to determine the CRT, you will press the horse's gum lightly to cause blanching of the color, and determine how long it will take for the color to return. In the normal horse, this takes no more than 2 seconds.

How to use Century Hill E-Lytes Horse Supplements

For the hardworking horse, feed 2 ounces per head per day. Maintenance is 1 ounce per head per day.

When to use Century Hill E-Lytes Horse Supplements

During cold weather, the horse may not want to drink water. If the horse is on the maintenance E-Lyte level, it should help increase the thirst so they will drink. When the horse is performing in competition levels of work, the E-Lytes with our pre-biotic yeast culture will help offset dehydration.
